COVID Restrictions allow for Wedding Ceremonies to be held with certain guest counts with a specific condition that there is no reception, food or beverage of any kind served at the event. The Globe and Mail Centre can accomodate the following guests counts for wedding ceremonies:

  • STEP ONE (As of June 11): Up to 50 attendees including the bride and groom
  • STEP TWO (tentatively July): Up to 90 attendees including the bride and groom
  • STEP THREE (tentatively August): Up to 100 attendees including the bride and groom

Everyone must wear a mask or face covering and maintain physical distancing with individuals outside of their household.

Our calendar shows options for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from July - October 2021

Unbooked dates with holds can be challenged if you are ready to sign and contract and pay a deposit.  The client with a hold will have 48 hours to confirm or release the date to you.

If you are interested in a Monday - Thursday,  or another month in 2021, please contact your Sales Manager.

What are the cancellation and postponement policies?

Your Contract will outline a few terms regarding deposits and cancellations.

We can summarize some key points:

  • Deposit Payments are as follows
    • 25% with contract signing if more than 90 days in advance of the event
    • 2nd payment bringing account to 50% of estimated charges at 90 days out
    • 3rd payment brining account to 100% of estimated charges at 30 days out
    • Final payment / refund following the event for any outstanding changes or overpayments
    • If you book at less than 90 days out, your initial deposit will be 50% of estimated charges.
    • If you book at less than 30 days out, your initial deposit will be 100% of estimated charges.
  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • Deposits are non-transferable, except in the following circumstances:
    • The Globe and Mail is prevented from giving possession of the premises to you to host anything at all.
    • A Public Health Order is in effect 30 days in advance of your event, and prohibits gatherings of 49 people or less for wedding ceremonies with receptions, or 9 people or less for ceremonies-only.
    • In these two circumstances outlined above, you will have the option to postpone to a mutually agreeable date, subject to availability. 
    • If you opt to cancel the event for any reason, including a reason relating to COVID-19 or other public health concerns, The Globe and Mail’s standard cancellation terms will apply, and your deposit will be retained by The Globe and Mail.
